Overview - A group of vacationers arrive at the "White Hotel" boarding house. The director of the boarding house, bureaucrat Alexander, learns that among the vacationers there is a film director who is studying the life of the boarding house for his upcoming film. Alexander considers one of the vacationers to be the director for some reason and will set a cruel regime in the boarding house to please him.
