Overview - Notorious shootist and womanizer Quirt Evans' horse collapses as he passes a Quaker family's home. Quirt has been wounded, and the kindly family takes him in to nurse him back to health against the advice of others. What about the Bible? You can't throw it away, that would be bad luck. Angel and the Badman is written and directed by James Edward Grant. Now this is certainly one of the more characterful roles played by John Wayne. His portrayal of all-round bad egg "Quirt Evans" is mean and moody - if a little wooden at first. He is wounded and finds himself being cared for in the Quaker household of Gail Russell.
