Overview - The seventh of the 500 Years of Joseon Dynasty series deals with the reigns of Injo, Hyojong and Hyeonjong in the 17th Century. The period in which Injo ruled was marked by General Yi Gwal's rebellion, the two invasions by the Manchu, and subsequent breakdown of the economy. His successors, Hyojong and Hyeonjong, spent most of their time on the throne attempting to restore the kingdom.
