Overview - Tanya, Ed, and their kids, 16-year-old Danika and 12-year-old Bobby, are a middle-class African-American family who open their door for an old friend who needs parenting help. Juggling the demands of single parenthood, Maddie believes her 16-year-old son, Keith, could benefit from living in a traditional family structure, and especially from a strong male influence. They discover that their differences are definitely more than skin deep.
